National Organizer for Resource Development

Tara Mohtadi

She/Her

Tara was born and raised in Minneapolis, to the daughter of immigrants from Iran. She has long been curious, both personally and professionally, about the relationship between people and place, and the ways in which the built environment fosters and inhibits belonging and agency. It is with this lens that she entered the field of urban planning and design, where she worked in both private and public sectors, and recently completed her Master’s in City Planning from MIT. More recently, Tara has oriented towards learning from and collaborating with various movement building organizations to support community ownership as a means to decommodify land and housing and redistribute power. Outside of work, Tara’s favorite activities include sharing food, nature, and sunshine with loved ones - which when combined, usually takes the form of a picnic, or snack-filled hiking excursion.
